Celtic Festivals
For over ten years the community of Schwarzenbach in cooperation with VIAS-University of Vienna are organising Celtic festivals at the late Iron Age oppidum.
The annual festival - the Celtovation - is combining archaeology and music and became a famous event all over Europe.
In 2007 VIAS and its partners organized the CelticNight wich was part of the European Researchers´ Night initiative. The objective of this EU-projects is to present researchers and research to the wide public by combining interdisciplinary scientific activities with a festive event. The CelticNight which was attended by 2800 people was a big success, despite the bad weather on Sept. 28th. 2007. The awareness campaign of this project did inform an estimated number of 1.5 mio people on the European initiative and the CelticNight project.
